A good friend of mine, Jolene Brown from West Branch, IA is up for a special award - Ag Woman of the Year!

For 37 years, Jolene has been involved in Agriculture by helping agricultural producers throughout her career as a speaker and family business consultant. Her career has spanned many years and has given her the opportunity to speak with agricultural people all across the United States as well as Australia and New Zealand. Jolene developed several CD series; The Top Ten Stupid Things Families Do To Breakup Their Businesses and with an economist,a Seminar in a Box for transition and succession planning of family businesses- Royal Bank of Canada. As a public speaker she has received the Certified Speaking Professional. Meeting hundreds of farm families, Jolene helped with difficult events and decisions in their personal and professional lives. I've known Jolene as a friend and agriculturalist for over 25 year. She deserves this award because she has touched so many lives and has helped them improve their situations and encouraged them through difficult times.
I have personally known and worked with Jolene Brown for the last 11 years through Accelerated Genetics Young Producer Program and she such a treat to work with and I am proud to be able to call her a friend. Jolene's tenure with the Young Producer program goes back over 20 years! And I can tell you she has lifted up, enriched and empowered many producers over those years!
