I found the following news story on Twitter from a friend of mine, and it just hit me that this would be a great way for those of us in agriculture to share our story about all the wonderful products we produce and how great we take care of our animals!
Join the campaign to get Conan to the Minnesota State Fair
"I've heard you guys have a chocolate-covered bacon. I will take the Tonight Show to the State Fair for a week if I can get my body weight in chocolate-covered bacon," Conan said in the KARE story that aired earlier this week.
Now, viewers have joined in the campaign to get Conan to come to the State Fair for a week.
One viewer even started a facebook page that you can join at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=104158776083.
You can click on the link and become a fan of "190 Pounds of Chocolate Covered Bacon = Conan O'Brien at the MN State Fair!"
"Recently in a KARE 11 News Extra, Conan O'Brien told reporter Jeff Olsen that he would come to the Minnesota State Fair on one condition."
Personally, my first thought is that Conan could join us past and present Minnesota Dairy Princesses as an official 'Butterhead'! Sounds better than chocolate covered bacon. But I do love the State Fair for all its foods on a stick.
So my message to Conan is "Come visit the Minnesota State Fair, the Great Minnesota (Midwest) Get-Together! I would personally like to share the story of Dairy with you! Conan, you would be treated to so many great dairy treats and if you wanted you could have the experience of showing one of my family's Jersey calves! Plus, I would gladly show you around the fair and show you my favorite things to do at the fair. I have been a fairgoer since I was 1-year old and I have been actively showing dairy animals at the fair with my family since I was 6 years old! So Conan join me this year at the Minnesota State Fair, it'll be an experience you'll never forget!"
